Make a Bad Decision Today

This is really an odd title isn't it? I chose the title to prove a point that making a bad decision today is better than making no decision at all. So many people, myself included, waste a lot of time on indecision. Fear of making the wrong choice, not knowing if the choice is going to turn out like planned, and sometimes even fear of making the right decision can hold us back. Making a bad decision in an effort to achieve a goal is still a step forward in the long run and can do a lot of good. Let me explain.

Do you know you hate your job, but you are to fearful to make a decision to change careers? Does the fear of failure hold you back? Do you flat out not know which decision is best? I can tell you this with confidence; it does not matter just make a freaking decision. Once you make a decision you will find out very quick if it was good or bad. Then you will be able to make the necessary change to move forward. If you want to go into business for yourself, then go into business for yourself. I have been told that the best way to succeed in business is to be in business. You might start out selling A then decide to move on to B and then C, but finally once you make it to P you find out what works best for you and you hit a new level of success you never knew was possible and all of this because you were willing to make a bad decision to move you in the right direction. You have to be willing to take risk and fail miserably. Look at every successful person and even ask them personally to share 10 super bad decisions that they have made along there journey and they will also tell you why each one of them was very important for their success. If they would have stayed put with what they were doing then they would still be where they were in the past. Bad decisions tend to spring board us into success with the lessons learned and pain felt. The truth is that all of this is for your good and your experience. The time will never be perfect and things will never be perfectly aligned. Opportunity comes and then it goes and if we want to be part of it we must make a decision to get on that train and ride it out for what it is worth. Screw the idea of waiting for the perfect opportunity and just take the risk and make the best decision with what you know and everything will turn out in you favor in the long run.

I am not saying to not do your homework before you make a change or to make a decision you clearly know is poor, but don't let uncertainty hold you back from achieving your goals. I was on a 6 month or less change cycle in jobs and opportunities and the birth, life, and death of each one has been extremely important to me in helping me to be who I am today and giving me the experience I need to succeed.
